100 days on the road!

Exactly 100 days ago my plane took off from the Frankfurter Flughafen to take me to Thailand. A long journey since then far away from home!

What were my favorite moments? What changed so far? How long distances did I travel?

I will answer that the next days, if the internet is working 😉

Cheers from the now rainy island Pulau Weh Lukas

The Best way to get to Indonesia!

Der Beitrag kommt noch in Deutsch wenn ich in “Deutsch-Laune” bin 😅

So what are the options to go from Malaysia to Indonesia? And what is the cheapest and my personal best option?
Malaysia is separated by the ocean from Indonesia so you will either have to take a ferry or flay by plane.

My plan was to get from south Malaysia to North Sumatra so I will focus the information on this route but the following is also interesting when you want to go anywhere else in Indonesia!

How to safe money on the Perhentian Islands!

Normally in Asia prices double when moving from the mainland to an island. The small Perhentian Island or Pulau Perhentian Kecil is not a exeption, but who wants to relax at the beaches of this nice island don’t has to necessarily pay too much. Here I have some tips how to cut off some expenses while staying on the island.

Penang (06.-11.09.16)

The island Penang who everybody knows because of the historical part of George Town works like this: Plan to stay 2 days – stay 5 days, a week, a month or a year!

Although I did the first thing, I can understand all the long-term travellers stuck in Penang for quite a while.

The good food (Yes rule Nr.1 in Penang is: Eat as much as you can!), the history and culture in George Town and the quite beaches in the National Park in the Northwest of the Island give a reason to stay some time.

For me it probably also was the amazing Couchsurfing community and especially my host Yeeenn who made this time to the best here in Malaysia.

There is only one thing to say: I will come again, see u soon!

Greetings from Malacca Town that together with George Town makes up the UNESCO World Heritage.

Cameron Highlands (04.-06.09.16)

Want to cool down a “little” bit? Then Cameron Highlands with its 22°C is perfect!

I came here because a traveller in Laos showed me a picture of the tea plantation. And it was truly worth it – wonderful view over the tea plantation, relaxing at a strawberry farm eating some homemade ice cream, enjoying the silence in Moosy Forrest or just freeze 😀

I stayed only 3 days because it was to cool for me and I escaped to Penang to warm up again 😅

Greetings from my 20°C hostel room – but here you need a air-condition.

Cheers Lukas

Kuala Lumpur (01.-04.09.16)

First impression after landing in KL: Wow they speak English again!

After 2 Months of travelling in countries with nearly no English skills it was a great step forward that most people in Malaysia speak some English and quite alot can speak it fluently.

I liked the city with its different faces, all the friendly people and the good transport. Especially thanks to the Family of Grace that you offered me a home far away from home and introduced me to all the Chinese food 🙂 Also thanks to Chan and your friend to meet me in KL and have a great day including lots of talks and a preview of Penangs food together😅

After beeing my second time in KL it was finally time to write something about the city, so Greetings from KL.

Koh Phangan – more than just the Full Moon Party!

Koh Phangan is a island in the middle between Koh Samui and Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand. I came here mainly for one reason: Daily diving trips to Sail Rock – the most beautiful diving spot in the Gulf of Thailand!

But besides diving Koh Phangnan invites to relax at the sandy beaches in the south, explore the small bays along the west coast side or visit one of the plenty waterfalls inland.

Koh Tao – Diving, Snorkeling, Relaxing!

(18.-27.08.16)

Koh Tao: A small island in front of the east coast of southern Thailand, a diving paradise or only destroyed reefs, beautiful beaches or run over by tourists. Anyone you ask will give you a different answer what Koh Tao is and I met alot of travellers who got stuck on Koh Tao years ago but also many who completely skiped the island.

So what is my impression of the island after 8 nights on Koh Tao?
